Olympique de Marseille and STATSports, the world’s leading provider of GPS athlete monitoring technology, have today announced the continuation of their partnership, with STATSports supporting the club as Official GPS Performance Tracking Partner.
The partnership continues an existing relationship, with STATSports’ wearable tracking technology used daily by the club since 2022 to optimise performance, manage load and support physical preparation.
Through the APEX 2.0 unit and Sonra software, STATSports equips the club’s coaching staff with detailed insights into distance covered, accelerations, decelerations and high-intensity efforts, alongside a wide range of other performance indicators.
The partnership also includes Sonra Cloud data infrastructure throughout the club, as well as live monitoring through our iPad and Apple Watch applications. Our Smart Training Ground Infrastructure will also be in place at OM Campus, giving coaching staff detailed insights to guide player preparation and development anywhere on campus.
These insights help staff understand the physical demands placed on players and make informed decisions around training throughout the season. The club’s staff will also integrate heart rate data with our conductive heart rate vests, giving staff internal load monitoring capabilities alongside external.
The partnership reinforces Olympique de Marseille’s commitment to innovation and preparation, ensuring first-team players and the next generation of Academy talent are monitored using sports leading performance monitoring technology.
